SAFETY:  Safety is a primary concern for all of us.  We strongly recommend that life preservers be worn when you are canoeing; shoes are also recommended.  When bicycling, it is absolutely required that you wear a helmet.  Accidents often cannot be prevented, protection is a wise practice.

Our personnel are constantly concerned about safety.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.  We recommend that small children not be taken on canoe river trips.  When a canoe tips there is generally a lot of confusion and many things to think about in a few moments.  A child's life may be put at risk, especially if someone else is also in trouble.  Moving water complicates safely issues.  Taking a child on a canoe ride on the lake is not as dangerous if the lake is quiet.  This may be something you want to consider prior to renting a canoe.  In all cases, good judgment and responsible conduct are the best protection.
